Noland Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of
WinWholesale (Dayton, OH), has opened new locations in Florida and Virginia to serve commercial and residential contractors and their customers with HVAC equipment, consulting services and luxury items for the home. Its Pinellas Park, FL, location serves contractors in four counties with NuTone heating and cooling products.
Rick Brock is manager. The Bath & Idea Center by Noland Co. in Falls Church, VA, serves the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. The showroom carries luxury items for bath and kitchen new construction and remodeling from companies including American Standard, Grohe, Brizo, Delta, Moen, MTI, MAAX and Acryline. YoLanda Sarraga is the showroom manager.
Grande Central Showrooms of NY, a division of Central Plumbing Specialties
(New York, NY), opened a showroom in mid-town Manhattan Dec. 1. The new showroom, at 56th St. between Lexington and Third in the heart of the designer district, is a two-story, 4,000-sq.-ft. ground floor walk-in plus one level down. This showroom is designer- and architect-driven, so art elements are placed adjacent to artfully designed displays. The company also has a 3,000-sq.-ft. showroom in its wholesale facility in Yonkers, NY.; a 750-sq.-ft. showroom on Park Ave. in Manhattan adjoining its wholesale facility there; and a 3,000-sq.-ft.,two-story showroom at 19 Bond St. in Manhattan, just two blocks north of Houston Street on the corner of
Lafayette. It operates three wholesale locations: in Westchester, the Bronx and Manhattan.

Whirlpool Corp. received the "Vendor of the Year" award from the
Bath & Kitchen Buying Group at its annual Fall Conference in Dallas, TX. The criteria for the award includes quality and value of the product, quality of both customer service and representation in the field, overall perception of the relationship between the vendor and the group, and the relationship between the vendor and the individual showrooms it supports.

Masco Corp. hired David F. Brown as chief procurement officer and vice president - supply chain. Most recently he was vice president of global logistics and fulfillment for Dell.
Santec, manufacturer of Santec and Vissoni faucets, appointed
Aaron C. Smith (right) as its vice president of sales and marketing. He brings 15 years of sales and management experience in the plumbing, bath and kitchen fields, including stints with Kohler, Kallista, Robern and, most recently, Uponor (formerly Wirsbo). Smith also has completed the LEED AP credential for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design's Green Building Rating System.
GerrityStone announced that its CEO,
Tracy Streckenbach (left), was recognized as one of the "2009 New Leaders" by Banker and Tradesman, a news publication that addresses the New England real estate market. GerrityStone is a New England-based interior stonework specialist. In two years Streckenbach has improved GerrityStone's annual net income by 28%, reduced production errors by 80%, achieved its highest customer satisfaction ratings, and spearheaded its green movement, the company said.

Caroma
said it will donate trees to the Ham Lake rehabilitation project in Superior National Forest in Minnesota. The company is contributing to the planting of 134,000 red, white, and Jack pine trees to benefit threatened, endangered and sensitive species. In addition to promoting water conservation with high-efficiency toilets and urinals, Caroma is a sponsor of American Forests
and its environmental restoration programs.
Harvel Plastics said it has received certification by NSF International as being in compliance with new "lead-free" standards regarding drinking water plumbing components. NSF has validated that Harvel's piping products do not contain lead and are in compliance with California's and Vermont's new laws.

Chicago Faucets said that its management systems earned a three-year certificate for ISO 9001:2008/ISO 14001:2004 certification
of its U.S. headquarters in Des Plaines, IL, and three manufacturing sites. ISO 14001 is a voluntary Environmental Management System that requires constant commitment to environmental planning and improvement.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued a final rule to help reduce water pollution from construction sites. The rule takes effect February 2010 and will be phased in over four years.

Made with Bradley's new Evero natural quartz material, it incorporates a sculpted elongated basin with a hidden drain.
