Hansgrohe employees take part in Showerworld world-record shower

World-record shower. One hot day in July, Hansgrohe invited more than 350 employees, their families and friends to soap up and step into "Showerworld" (pictured right), its showroom that displays 20 different showering systems inside the Aquademie training facility in  Alpharetta, GA. The goal: to showcase the largest group of people to take a personal shower together at the same time, in the same indoor setting. Added benefit: The record was set with Hansgrohe's water-conserving EcoAIR showerheads and handshowers. Paperwork has been filed with the Guinness World Record people.

The Natural Stone Council  (NSC) recently announced its unequivocal support for granite as a safe, natural material for use indoors based on prior research and, most recently, both an independent study funded by NSC member the Marble Institute of America (MIA) and newly issued U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) statements reaffirming that granite poses no health risk, as reported by Stone World magazine. John Beckman of Warriner Smith Utilities and Bill Norris for Gerber

Gerber Plumbing Fixtures LLC celebrated its 75th anniversary during 2007 by launching a national search for plumbing contracting firms that had reached or exceeded the same milestone. Warriner Smith Utilities of Nanuet, NY, was randomly selected as the grand prize winning plumbing contractor for the "75 years of Professional Performance" campaign. The company was awarded $2,500 in Gerber product to be selected from a Gerber wholesaler. Five second-place contractor firms received $250 in Gerber product and all 100 eligible firms that submitted entries received a commemorative gift from Gerber. Charlotte Winnelson showroom

Charlotte Winnelson Co. (Charlotte, NC) opened the Win Kitchen and Bath Showcase. The 3,500-sq.-ft. showroom, which also provides cabinetry and countertops, was created as a one-stop shop for kitchen and bath needs in new construction and remodeling. It features 53 working displays of faucets, sinks, toilets, whirlpool tubs, a steam unit, showerheads and fireplaces. Brands carried include American Standard and TOTO bath products, Moen and Delta faucets, Jacuzzi whirlpools, Yorktowne cabinetry and Cambria quartz solid surface countertops.

Kessler Sales & Distribution relocated its corporate offices and its New Jersey distribution center to Woodbridge, NJ. The 300,000-sq.-ft. facility, formerly owned by Gerber Plumbing Fixtures, sits on 25 acres in central New Jersey.

The Forte Buying Group sponsored its first annual Forte Door Hardware Conference June 19-20 in Chicago . More than 60 showroom professionals participated in the two-track program - one aimed at those new to door hardware and the other for those with experience in the category who are looking to expand their skill set. The conference included a tour of Chicago Brass' Highwood, IL, showroom.

Adelphi Kitchens & Cabinetry has developed customizable print advertising templates for their dealers. Dealers can log onto the Dealer portal on the company's Web site to choose an ad, available in standard sizes. Once downloaded, the ad can be customized with the dealer's logo and contact information. 

Northland-Marvel broke ground for a state-of-the-art facility in Greenville, MI , that will bring together two existing U.S. manufacturing plants, as well as establish a world-class innovation, manufacturing, design and customer service center. The company manufactures luxury undercounter refrigeration products, refrigerator/freezer systems, wine cellars, beverage and wine refrigerators, refrigerated drawers, outdoor refrigerators, ice machines and beverage dispensers sold under the Northland and Marvel brands.

Kevin B. Merritt, Superior Radiant Products Ltd.Superior Radiant Products Ltd. (SRP) appointed Kevin B. Merritt (right) as president. He succeeds Eric Willms, who is retiring from SRP after founding the company in 1995. Merritt entered the infrared heating industry more than 20 years ago and is one of the co-founders of SRP.

CSI Controls hired Adam Bates as regional sales manager. The company is a water and wastewater control manufacturer.

Innovative Stone announced that Brett Rosenfeld is its new executive vice president. He succeeds Rosalie Cipolla, who now serves as a consultant for the company.

Woody Dickinson, Caleffi Caleffi Hydronic Solutions hired Woody Dickinson (right) as a product manager. The company manufactures components for hydronic and solar heating systems.

Totally Bamboo Totally Bamboo 's eco-friendly solid bamboo vessel sink (pictured) is made from 100% renewable Moso bamboo that is grown without fertilizers, insecticides or artificial water supply. Its factory is ISO 9000 compliant. Bamboo groves produce more oxygen than a hardwood forest of comparable size and help prevent soil erosion and reduce carbon dioxide gases blamed for global warming, the company says.

GROHE recently introduced more than 60 GROHE faucets and shower products in low-flow versions. Its WaterCare products reduce water consumption by 30%, with a flow rate of 1.5 gallons per minute (gpm), below the industry standard of 2.5 gpm. These products meet strict EPA standards. GROHE is an EPA WaterSense® partner.

DURAVIT Duravit is outfitting the "Cellophane House," a project included in Home Delivery: Fabricating the Modern Dwelling, an exhibition organized by The Museum of Modern Art in New York that will be on view through Oct. 20, 2008 . Two sink basins from the Vero collection and two Philippe Starck-designed toilets and accessories (pictured right) will be included in the exhibit. Cellophane House is made of transparent and translucent materials, held in place with an aluminium structural frame, except for two "bathroom pods" which contain the Duravit fixtures.
