MTI Whirlpool
has taken the solid surface materials primarily used for countertops and sinks and applied it to bathtubs. The Boutique Collection offers high-end solid surface products for the bath, including the Elise soaking tub (pictured). The composite materials consist of a mixture of ground natural minerals and binding agents that are liquefied, poured and then hardened. These "Engineered Solid-Surface" products are non-porous, stain-resistant, mold and mildew resistant, and easy to clean. |

American Standard Completes Merger The leaders of American Standard America, Crane Plumbing Holding Corp. and Eljer Holding Corp.
announced the completion of the merger of their respective companies. The new combined company will conduct business under the name of American Standard Brands. Donald C. Devine, previously president and CEO of American Standard America, has been named CEO of American Standard Brands, effective immediately. Go here for more details.
Sale of Elkay Canada Ltd. Complete Elkay Plumbing Products Division (PPD) announced it has completed the sale of its Elkay Canada Ltd. operations to Novanni Stainless Inc., a newly formed company owned by Oakville Stamping and Bending Ltd. (OS&B) and Supreme Metal Products Inc.
OS&B, a privately held company, manufactures overflows, traps, lavatory drains, tubular brass fittings and flexible supply hoses. Supreme Metal Products Inc., also a privately held company, manufactures sink strainers. Novanni Stainless Inc. will continue to manufacture Wessan, AMI and other Elkay branded products in the Coldwater, Ontario, facility. Go here for details. |

Julien has named Julie Lemieux the new regional sales manager for the Julien Home Refinements Division. She had been with the company for more than three years as Business Development Manager, primarily with the Commercial division.
Moen Inc. has announced the promotion of Arthur Gallagher to the position of regional manager of Commercial Sales, Northeast Region. He joined Moen in 2001 as a territory manager and was promoted to senior territory manager in 2006.
Elkay Manufacturing Co.'s Walter E. Reilly, corporate vice president and chief human resources officer, plans to retire from Elkay at the end of March 2008. Reilly's role at Elkay included activities such as labor and employee relations, organization and leadership development and employee health and wellness. |
