Is this a showerhead?

During my visit to Vegas for the Surfaces Show, I found this odd beast staring at me from the shower.

Today is Day 3 of our kitchen remodel and I’m still a happy camper. The tile guys poured and leveled about half of the cement for the new floor. They are finishing today.

You might wonder why I selected a funky showerhead for this blog instead of a cool photo of the cement.

Have you ever looked at cement?

I know it’s the foundation off all good buildings, roads, bridges, etc. But it’s so flat, gray and uh, gray. Not exactly photogenic stuff.

So I’ll revisit the floor when I have something a bit more visually appealing to share.

In the meantime, I wanted to ask if you’ve ever seen a showerhead like the one featured here.

I was in Las Vegas for the Surfaces Show, staying at the Flamingo Hotel, when I opened the shower curtain to find this rather unusual contraption staring at me.

Now keep in mind this was not Mandalay Bay, Wynn’s, or any of the other ritzy hotels. So I did not expect top-of-the line shower fixtures.

But this was something I would expect to find in a Motel 5½.

If I’m not mistaken, I believe it is a tub spout connected with heavy use of plumber’s tape to an elbow screwed into to a rather ordinary head. I have to give the maintenance guys points for creativity.

Oddly enough, it worked just fine and didn’t drip. What it lacked in beauty, it made up for in delivery.

In defense of the Flamingo, they were in the process of doing some heavy remodeling of their rooms.

I’m hoping my room was still on the list!

Have a wondered and blessed Easter.
