W.A. Birdsall & Co., recently opened a 6,500-square-foot luxury bath
showroom featuring the latest in bath products and technologies. The brand new Plainfield, NJ
showroom includes a focus on sustainable design.

in the LEED for Commercial Interiors (CI) Retail Pilot Program. It anticipates
being certified at the Gold level allowing the showroom to be one of the first
LEED certified retail spaces of its kind. Additionally, the space will be used as
an educational center for professionals and consumers interested in learning
about green products.
“We are
thrilled to open this flagship showroom, as it will allow consumers and
professionals the opportunity for an educational and interactive shopping
experience,” announced Patricia Whelan, director at Birdsall Bath Design.
Showroom staff
is comprised of professionals with expertise in both design and construction
who understand the products and offer free consultation to assist customers. It
offers working displays of faucets, showers and tubs so contractors and
homeowners are able to test the merchandise and experience the design and
function of essential quality products.
“W.A. Birsdall & Co. was
founded in the beginning of the 20th Century before indoor plumbing
was widely available,” according to Michael Murphy, vice president of W.A.
Birdsall & Co. “The company was on the forefront of technology then and
continues to be so today. This is why we felt it was so important to create
this type of showroom as the bathroom is one of the most important spaces in
the home and it is our core business.”
Approximately
5,500 square feet of the space is dedicated to decorative plumbing fixtures. A
flat-screen television will feature videos about products as well as bath
design for additional education and inspiration. The balance of the space,
approximately 1,000 square feet, will house a plumbing/HVAC supply counter for
tradesmen. Additionally, a 3,000-square-foot warehouse on the premises will
allow for full inventory.
