In a combined effort between waterjet impresario Creative
Edge and the Coverings trade exposition and advertising/pr agency,
Communicators International, Inc., guests at
Coverings
2008 will be greeted with a remarkable waterjet cut mural
designed by Harri Aalto, co-owner and waterjet artist of Creative Edge
Mastershop, Inc.
Utilizing a unique fusion of bright and bold colors with
varying textures, this tropical Florida-inspired mural was created using precision
waterjet-cut porcelain and glass tile products, held together with installation
system materials from LATICRETE International, Inc. The bulk of the tile
material used for this expansive mural was high-quality, solid-color porcelain
from GranitiFiandre. Glass products by Color Mirage, a decorative glass product
line recently introduced to the market by the Applied Coatings Group (ACG),
were selected by Aalto to create the look of water.
Thousands of precision-cut, beautifully colored pieces
make up the waterjet artistry that will be permanently mounted outside of the
new Orange County Convention Center at the South entryway. The unveiling will
be held April 29, 2008, the first day of the show, at 11:00 a.m.
