Villeroy
& Boch has earned two 2007 GOOD DESIGN Awards from the
Chicago Athenaeum for its Soul Fittings and SmartBench WC. Specifically,
Villeroy & Boch’s products were heralded for reflecting the award’s
objectives of outstanding design and product distinction, while the company was
highlighted for its distinguished history of innovative and elegant design.
The winning entries were:
- The City Life Smartbench, a handsomely
crafted wooden bench that conceals a ceramic toilet beneath its lid.
- SOUL Fittings and Accessories, an organic-themed
line of bath faucets inspired by bamboo’s shape and concentric rings.

All winning products will be included in an exhibition later this year and a
selection of winning designs will become part of the institution’s permanent
