GerrityStone, an
interior and exterior custom stonework specialist, is being featured in York
Maine’s 20th Annual Decorator Show House presented by the Museums of Old York. The
show runs through Sat., Aug. 15, and is considered one of New England’s
landmark decorating events, representing a true collaboration of the regions’
most talented interior designers.
This year’s featured home
is the historic McIntire Farm. Working with renowned interior designer
Frank Hodge, who is designing the home’s farmhouse-styled kitchen, GerrityStone
is custom fabricating and crafting pieces of 1-1/2-inch Irish Grey
Limestone that contains preserved fossilized sea shells, which ties into York’s
identity as a seaside getaway. The fossilized sea shells are said to be
millions of years old, and the ideal compliment to the 300-yr.-old heritage of
York Maine’s rich history. “It is like the perfect ingredient to an old family
recipe,” said
Dawn Carroll, director of GerrityStone’s
Architectural Division. “This stone evokes the wonder of yesteryear and is a
perfect choice for Mr. Hodges’ exceptional kitchen design.”
